I never invest points into psi or heavy weapons, they really aren't powerful enough to matter compared to others, energy isn't bad but it's not great, I would only use energy for the laser rapier To save up resources use the wrench as your primary weapon and be sure to strip search every room, after a little bit you will want to buy a bunch of AP rounds for your pistol because there are ALOT of robots on the second level but before that make sure that you invest some skills into maintenance so that your weapons do not break When you finally get to choose your basic stats go with strength, research and standard weapons of 2, this will insure that you will be alive and able to use guns right off the bat and gain some bonus damage to enemies I recommend that you play on easy,Run through the tutorials and such but I HIGHLY recommend the navy as your first play through, with the navy you can really experience everything in the game Now you want to rehung the controls to your liking, the game auto defaults to awkward tank controls with the movement Second, turn the music down or off in the first few levels, some of the music can ruin tension in some areas, I feel the horror elements and scary moments happen later in the game I recommend playing with og textures on your first play through but you will probably want to play at the highest resolution you can Ss2 can be a tough game especially for newcomers so I hope this guide helps out new comers so let's start off with game settings
